Today our next Governor, Gary R. Herbert, announced his selection of Senator Gregory S. Bell to fill the vacancy in the office of Lt. Governor. As Utahns and as Republicans we can be proud of Governor Herbert’s appointment. Senator Bell is an excellent choice for the position, not only because of the experience he will bring to the office, but because of the ability and commitment to our state and to preserving and promoting our Utah values he shares with our citizens.
Next week all of Utah will have the unique opportunity to share in the celebration of the inauguration of Gary R. Herbert as our Governor. The Utah Republican Party is honored to join with all of our state’s citizens in pledging our support to the new leadership team. We stand ready to do whatever we can to continue to make Utah the greatest place in our great country to live, work, and prosper.
The public is invited to attend the farewell address of Ambassador-Designate Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. and the Inauguration of Gary R. Herbert as the 17th Governor of the State of Utah on Tuesday, Aug 11, 2009 at the Utah State Capitol Rotunda. Doors open at 11 a.m. for General Admission Seating. Please be seated by 11:45 a.m. Parking is available adjacent to the Capitol campus.
